Engineering Manager (m/f/d) Chemical Plant Expansion

Location: Germany - Burghausen
Hours: Full-Time
Type of Contract: Temporary until March 2027 (possibility to extend or maybe even convert into a permanent contract)

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination, design integrity, and delivery of engineering activities for the Nextension project. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, EPC partners and construction teams to ensure successful execution within scope, time, and budget.
Your main tasks will include:
- Lead and manage the multidisciplinary engineering team
- Oversee and coordinate engineering deliverables from concept through detailed design, procurement, and construction support
- Ensure alignment with project requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations
- Serve as primary engineering interface for EPC contractors, licensors, and internal project leadership
- Drive technical reviews, design validation, value engineering, and risk mitigation strategies
- Monitor progress, manage changes, and report key performance indicators to senior management
- Foster collaboration between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams
About you
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- 8+ years of relevant experience in engineering/project management, preferably in petrochemicals or large-scale industrial projects
- Proven track record managing engineering scopes for complex CAPEX projects (brownfield/greenfield)
- Strong understanding of plant safety, process design, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Fluent in English | German language skills are a strong advantage
