In the position of Static Equipment Engineer, you ensure that all static equipment of the plant is compliant with the legal requirements and the Borealis specifications. As member of the mechanical maintenance team, you participate in the development and the optimization of the equipment life cycle for the production installations in Borealis Kallo and Antwerp. You will play a main role in defining equipment strategies for static equipment in collaboration with the Inspection & Integrity department. You also act as a counterpart for the Engineering partner and technical support for the Borealis procurement department.
Your main tasks will include the following:
- You lead improvement PA&T programs (example: HSE&Q incidents, troubleshooting, etc.) in own area of expertise. You implement change management processes in your own area of expertise.
- You are motivated to actively participate in the expediting and inspection activities lead by the inspection and integrity department
- You deliver expertise and have knowledge in the assigned technology on local site level and towards the European assets on request basis. You identify and analyse problems and provide long-term solutions.
- You provide technical expert advice, calculations and engineering activities to maintenance and projects on local site level.
- you support, control and coordinate engineering partners for the assigned technology and are counterpart to procurement in technical/supplier issues (bid evaluations, buying teams, TCO, supplier classification).
- You are responsible for specifications on revisions of the equipment in the technical expertise area.
- You maintain internal and external networking in the assigned technology, to exert influence for Borealis and keep awareness of potential developments.
- You apply HSEQ requirement in all areas of the responsibility.
- You develop and implement local/group Procedures and Instructions.
- You act as internal trainer and coach in your area of expertise.
About you
In addition to a Master’s degree in (electro)mechanics (or equivalent by experience), you have minimum 5 years experience in relevant areas as well as a good knowledge in welding and materials. A qualification as International Welding Engineer is an asset. Furthermore, you are familiar with ASME, API, ANSI ... and relevant legislation (Vlarem, PED ...). Your knowledge of Dutch and English (business level) is good.
Apart from your technical skills, you demonstrate good organizational and project management skills. You have an analytical and ambitious mindset. As a teamworker, you stimulate a positive work atmosphere. Furthermore, you have a strong focus on HSE and quality, and lead by example. Finally, you combine office work and outdoor expediting and inspection.
