In order to successfully implement our Borealis Strategy 2030, a new "IT & Digital Solutions" organisation has been created which comes with a number of new opportunities. One of the roles necessary to ensure a fit for future organisation is a Business Value Manager (BVM).


The Business Value Manager is the SPOC from the IT & Digital Solutions department to a specific business area such as for example S&OP, Logistics, Maintain, Develop, HSE. As BVM, you will prioritize the IT & Digital Solutions portfolio on business value, creating focus and assuring the IT & Digital budget in these business areas is spent on the right initiatives based on clear set criteria. You will steer the committed value of the portfolio to be delivered and also inspire, challenge and change the Borealis organization through innovation and ideation. 


In your role as BVM, you will:


  • Translate the Business and IT & Digital Solutions strategy in a long term roadmap for the specified business areas in close collaboration with Senior Leaders.
  • Challenge the specified business areas on created and possible value of ideas. 
  • Act as a point of escalation for business issues, ensuring prompt and efficient resolutions. 
  • Steer ongoing value streams, projects and services on created value.
  • Be responsible for maintaining a strong relationship between the IT & Digital Solutions department and the specific business areas within Borealis. 

About you

To be considered for this role of Business Value Manager you must have a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration and at least 5 years in a similar role in an international context and matrix organization. You must have a broad knowledge of digitalization from ideation up to implementation and design thinking, an open mindset towards evolutions in the market and strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate people. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who can influence and negotiate with Senior Leaders, but also with analytical and problem-solving skills, who can think strategically and tactically. Knowledge of User Experience Design and when to use it to ensure committed value is delivered is advised. You master English at business level.
