Key Customer Leader (m/f/d)

Location: home office based in the DACH / Benelux region

Hours: Full-Time

Type of Contract: Permanent


We put people first! We are looking for a new Key Customer Leader (m/f/d) for two of the biggest accounts in our Pipe business. This role might be for you if you are passionate about managing big accounts and about establishing long term premium relationships with different stakeholders on all levels - both at our customers but also within Borealis. We are looking for you if tasks like the ones listed below tick your boxes.


  • Develop and deliver on a clear strategy, including sales targets, for your Key Customers 
  • Contribute to Borealis’ overall sales strategy by advising the Head of Sales and our Sales Center on market dynamics, benchmarks, competition and other developments
  • Sell our products based upon understanding of our customer’s and end user’s perceived value of Borealis products
  • Stay in close contact with your Key Customers at all relevant locations to understand their current and future requirements, to unlock innovation and growth potential and to position Borealis as a long-term strategic partner
  • Close cooperation within an international and cross-functional team to ensure a high level of service overall (marketing, technical customer service, sales managers in different countries, etc.)
  • Active price management plus management of after-sales activities   
  • Deliver accurate operational planning and forecasting

About you


For this commercial role, knowledge of polymers is a bonus. What really matters is that you have a strong commercial background from sales and from dealing with big accounts. It would be great if you already have some experience in the pipe business and know the standards and conventions of this industry. Knowledge of the English language on business level is a must – any knowledge of German is a bonus.

You know how to confidently establish and develop a “privileged relationship” with key customers and how to successfully collaborate with stakeholders on all levels, in different locations, internally and at your customers. You have the urge to understand the current and future requirements of our customers and translate those into value for both the customer and Borealis. You are aware that this requires frequent business travel and also excellent intercultural understanding and awareness.

Your success in this role will highly depend on the above-mentioned skills but also on your strategic thinking, passion for sales and account management, your pro-active approach and your ability to inspire people and drive topics forward.
