Are you looking for a step-up in your career where you are the one setting standards to help us improve? We want to expand our global Project Method & Quality team which is part of our global I-PMO by adding a QA /  QC Expert to the team. This group of five is a dedicated support function for our project teams all over the globe and across the entire project lifecycle and different disciplines e.g. engineering, procurement, construction, completion and close-out. With this specific role we want to further strengthen the development and improvement of quality planning, quality assurance and quality control within our capital project processes by providing professional support and guidance on these matters as well as state of the art tools and systems. 

 

Your main contributions are: 

  • provide support and guidance to study / project teams to ensure professional QA / QC planning and its proper application within their study / project works. 
  • develop and improve QA / QC related guidelines and respective systems 
  • develop QA / QC related training packages and conduct trainings to enhance the respective knowledge amongst stakeholders
  • develop and improve vendor / contractor qualification processes and tools 
  • conduct vendor  contractor pre-qualification / qualification assessments 
  • conduct study / project gate reviews and interim project execution assessments (engineering and construction progress reviews) 
  • maintain the internal review logs for studies / projects / external assessments to identify and work on quality trends 
  • maintain close cooperation with other I-PMO discipline experts e.g. engineering, project controls, construction to ensure seamless integration of QA / QC demands in studies and projects
  • support and drive the implementation of Common Engineering Specifications and be a guardian for standardisation and good quality 
  • ensure effective use of Borealis lessons learned system 

About you

 

 

As our ideal candidate you obtained a Masters degree in a technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and were able to build on this with practical experience over the past 10 years of your career within maintenance, project management or quality management. Working experience in polymerisation plants or crackers is considered a plus. Thanks to your expertise you are able to not only adhere to standards, but you are able to identify core issues, find a solution and set a standard that helps prevent or mitigate the problem. With your excellent communication skills you are able to create buy-in for QA  / QC topics amongst your stakeholders even in a fast-paced and multi-cultural environment. A mastery of English at Business level (verbal and written) is a must for this role. You are well versed in ISO 9001 (2015/2018) and also with other quality systems like PDRI, IPA, ISO, Prince or 6Sigma.
