As Feedstock Business Development Manager your main responsibility is to originate, scout, track and develop international sustainable and fossil cracker feedstock opportunities, in NGL’s (LPG; propane, butane) but also in naphtha and ethane as well as liquid feedstocks like biodiesel or pyrolysis-oil. 

In your role you will build an extensive international network in cracker feedstock supply and sales. You will develop short-, mid- and long-term supply of sustainable (recycled/renewable) and fossil feedstock to Borealis European hydrocarbon locations, in close alignment with central European commercial heads and their sourcing teams. You will take up an advisory role in strategic international projects as part of the company strategy and will propose JV structure opportunities and/or acquisition targets. You will support the Baystar JV on commodity pricing/contracting where necessary and legally possible due to confidentiality barriers. 

It is your responsibility to:

  • contribute to the development of Feedstock and (Bio-) Circular strategy & business plan for the BU.
  • develop and maintain a contracting portfolio for feedstock for the 1-10 year time frame as a component of the business plan for the BU, and assist in the EU commercial feedstock and NBD team on term and spot opportunities.
  • cooperate on reaching the projected commercial excellence KPI contributions from feedstock sourcing and olefins activities.
  • establish and develop relationships with third parties internationally in order to identify potential sources of short to medium/long-term advantageous sustainable and fossil feedstock and sales opportunities for olefins.
  • seek for new innovative renewable and chemically recycled feedstock as part of the Borealis Circular Strategy.
  • you will travel regularly, sometimes weekly, in and outside Europe. 

About you


As a Feedstock Business Development Manager you hold a Master's degree. At least 10 years of demonstrated experience in NGL business development and/or sourcing/trading in an international context is required. An understanding of the petrochemical industry and market structures is a clear benefit. 

You must have a thorough understanding of suppliers, infrastructure, terminals and other stakeholders in the feedstock markets and beyond, and a good understanding of principles of risk management. We are looking for someone with excellent commercial negotiation and customer/supplier business relationship skills, who upholds the highest level of integrity, ethics and values whilst keeping an entrepreneurial mindset. The ideal candidate seeks for win-win cooperations with suppliers and customers, fostering long lasting relationships, with a conviction to keep discovering and learning, and this in an environment of high autonomy. 

For this position you must be fluent in English at business level, any other language is a plus. Important is that you are able and open to travel Asia, US, ME and mostly within Europe, possibly on a weekly basis.
