As a New Business Development Manager, you are responsible for the discovery of new business opportunities in the world of Hydrocarbons. Your commercial talent will be a great asset in scanning and developing new markets. Innovation and inquisitiveness are key aspects of this position. You will continuously improve our business and play an important role in shaping the future of the Hydrocarbons unit and of Borealis.
In your role you will:
- You create a clear overview done by SWOT and techno-economic analysis of possible routes in sustainable hydrocarbons
- You develop a conclusion and recommendation on the way forward for Borealis regarding sustainable hydrocarbons products
- You investigate market frameworks, stakeholders and industry interdependencies for the new opportunity and create clear overview and knowledge base.
- You establish a strong network to get deep insight into the area and identify the key-win battles
- You are capable to investigate commercial and technical needs and size potential opportunity in depth – volume, value and differentiation potential.
- You create profitable, sustainable business proposals starting from collection or generation of concepts and knowledge.
- You develop, set up and lead project teams maturing development ideas into concrete opportunities.
- You prepare, evaluate and negotiate commercial agreements linked to business opportunities.
About you
To start your journey as a New Business Development Manager within Borealis, you are in need of a Masters degree from an acknowledged university, MBA or equivalent by experience. Furthermore you have a technical understanding of processes and technologies in the refinery-cracker-polyolefins value chain. In addition, we expect at least 10 years of relevant working experience in the area of refinery, cracker, hydrocarbons and/ or derivatives. We appreciate a minimum of 3 years of experience in a concept & strategy development role in the chemicals area. Experience in the field of sustainability and a heart for a greener planet are also great assets.
Apart from your technical knowledge, you also have a good dose of commercial flair, combined with a sense for business and ethics. Your entrepreneurial mindset and self driven attitude make you push things forward. Team work is important to you as you will receive support from and give support to three other team members. Furthermore, we expect an open mind towards cultural differences. Mastery of English at a business level is a must. Expect substantial travel in- and outside of Europe at times.
