Lab Technologist

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide lab technical support in activities including but not limited to instrumentation, testing, design of experiments, method development, product development and data retention. The incumbent is a professional in applying scientific principles combined with academic knowledge, experimental results and technical experiences to support and enhance the technical capabilities of the lab. 

About you

 Area of responsibility 
   Operate and maintain existing analytical and inspection equipment 
   Identify, install and support future additional analytical and inspection equipment 
   Support both routine and non-routine testing and specification requirements 
   Maintain data and records in accordance with SOPs and internal processes
   Lead and/or assist in the design and execution of non-routine experiments
   Demonstrate technical ability to lead and/or assist in the design and execution of experiments       and testing with minimal supervision. 
   Understand and apply fundamental principles of lab equipment, problem solving, customer complaints investigation and product development. 
   Contribute to analytical method development and improvement
   Effective communication with cross-functional teams, i.e QC, Product Development, Maintenance, Shipping/Receiving and Operations. 
   Perform all work in a safe manner. 
   Continually update knowledge and understanding of current laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment of the industry
   Demonstrate mastery of IT systems including but not limited to Microsoft office, SAP, LIMS, Sharepoint and other IT systems

C3. Customer 
   QC, Production, Product Owners and Product Developers 
   Represents the department in a professional manner for internal and external customers 

C4. Interfaces 
  International and local networks / interfaces such as PD or PO Engineers, Supply Chain, Suppliers, Production, QC and Global IT. 


  • 4 year degree in a science related field
  • 5 years experience in a lab environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant IT systems, MS Office
  • Demonstrated understanding of statistics and how to apply to laboratory data
  • Working knowledge of polymer manufacturing and extrusions processes
  • Technical knowledge and skills as related to polymer processing and testing
  • Technical documentation skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of HSE&Q standards
  • Ability to work independently
