Lab Technician

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for testing all finished goods for quality to ensure that each product conforms to all applicable standards, specifications and requirements.  The technician will also use acquired expertise to manage technical requests in support of product development, customer requests and/or complaints. 

About you

Technical Expertise
•    Understands the theory, capabilities, limitations, and applications of routine and  non-routine lab equipment and instruments 
•    Knowledge of product compositions to enable effective testing, analysis of results and proposals for non-routine testing
•    Able to independently document procedures and technical reports 
•    Mastery of IT systems, including but not limited to SAP, LIMS, Sharepoint and Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and Powerpoint. 
•    Prioritize and organize all assignments with minimal supervision and efficient use of time

•    Technical knowledge (2 year technical degree or >5 years of lab experience)
•    Demonstrated knowledge of relevant IT systems, MS Office.  Focus on SAP and LIMS systems.

•    Working knowledge of polymer manufacturing and extrusions processes
•    Technical knowledge and skills as related to polymer processing and testing
•    Technical documentation skills
•    Good oral and written communication skills
•    Knowledge of HSE&Q standards
•    Ability to work independently and efficiently

Area of responsibility      
•    All HSE requirements met and exceeded
•    Independently conduct routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in process, and finished products, using a variety of testing equipment and procedures to maintain product quality.
•    Develop and document test procedures in appropriate database, including requisite statistics
•    Ensure the lab operation and analytical measurements, equipment and records are compliant with the analytical standards of ISO/IATF16949
•    Maintain and report accurate and complete records of all testing completed in appropriate database(s).
•    Responsible for calibration, verification and routine maintenance of test equipment. 
•    Responsible for stocking all the chemicals and supplies needed for Quality Control.
•    Maintain a clean and safe work area.
•    Willingly and effectively participate on site HSE and/or technical teams
