Role Purpose:Regional scope of the role is to support business in North Americas and south Americas. 
Provide Product Stewardship specialist service, both to Borealis Group functions and locations in the area of chemicals’ regulatory management as well as represent Borealis in industry networks and committees
    Involved in the development and follow-up of actions supporting the implementation and application of the RC® policy by reducing risks and to assure full legal compliance along the value chainIdentify opportunities and threats / risks for Borealis through business platforms and issue teams


Area of responsibility 
Requirements:

    To ensure leading performance / position in Product Stewardship by giving advise and expertise to relevant Borealis functions to help the company to meet their business objectives and authority/customer expectations  
    To be responsible for assuring that products placed on the global markets meet the chemical and product relevant regulations, including proactive communication, on the upcoming legal measures and trends 
    To monitor and evaluate the performance, development and improvement needs, and to support the implementation and to prepare the relevant internal and external reports and statements
    Ensures follow up and internal communication (including training) of the development of the international and local/national chemical and products legislations in the respective area of his/her expertise
    To contibute to the short and medium term strategies and targets defined by HSEQ LT and company polices
    To foster “Piece of Mind” philosophy in the company / through the whole value chain by proving facts and options on regulatory developments in a proactive manner. 
    Prepares and issues statements, registration and notification dossiers on request by internal or external stakeholders in his/her area of expertise for international, and national purposes
    Represents his/her speciality and contibutes to medium / short term plans and targets via Group Product Stewardship team
    Maintains relations with authorities and represents the company in industry networks 
    Focuses on day to day operations as well as on development, and supports the implementation of procedures / best practises in his/her area of responsibility
    Availability of effective and efficient systems, tools and processes and contributes the alignment across Borealis, 
    Secure definition of minimum requirements (compliance documents, technical dossiers, BMS) to meet regulatory compliance and standards with commercial products and chemicals
    Identify training needs and develop training packages to enhance skills and competences in the organisation
    Judge and also challenge, based on the special expertise knowledge, internal stakeholders’ positions and opinions

About you

Education 
    Master's degree (e.g. chemistry, biochemistry, material science, chemical technology, biology
    English: advanced knowledge, spoken and written

Experience 

    EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLE: minimum 5 years of experience in Product Stewardship
    TOTAL EXPERIENCE: minimum 8 years in relevant chemical industry / science / authorities
    Knowledge on Product Stewardship / HSEQ principles, and concepts as well as related industry standards
    Knowledge and understanding of chemical, product legislations (especially TSCA, GHS)
    Skills with IT tools and information retrieving 
    Communicative and dialogue engaged teamworker, encouraging and contributing to set direction for others within a multicultural environment
    Ability to translate complex chemical regulatory texts to layman language and into practical requirements
    Conceptual thinking. Ability to translate chemical regulatory reguirements to practical actions and based on these skills to support company middle management to be able to form decisions with critical topics.
