Borealis Compounds in Taylorsville, NC is looking for production operator candidates.
About the role: The Production Operator will be responsible for raw materials, process flow, manufacturing documentation, and finished goods used within the compounding process. Individual will be key participant in creating high quality, innovative plastic products for use in the automotive and utility industries.
Job Description:
• Continuous attention to safety; Maintaining a safe working culture & environment
• Follows all quality policies and production procedures ensuring quality production
• Monitors and performs product quality checks and takes appropriate action, including shutdown of process, to prevent or limit production
• Responsible for the completion and accuracy of all production order data entry
• Responsible for meeting standard batch times while maintaining safety and quality
• Be able to calculate and make production decisions when the need arises
• Assists in meeting the production schedule goals by completing assignments
• Follows all provisions of operating instructions
• Ensure work space is 5S ready, clean and orderly
• Participate in continuous improvement programs (Lean, Kaizen, CIS, TBW)
• Expected to know performance metrics and work toward targeted objectives
• Proactively report any equipment issues as soon as they become aware
• Work in a team environment to optimize output of quality product, assist others as necessary, and promote safety awareness
• Perform forklift/truck requirements

About you
Requirements:
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes
• Strong focus on Safety and Quality
• The Production Operator will need good math and mechanical aptitude skills
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
• Follows all provisions of operating instructions
• High School diploma or GED
• Be team player
• Flexibility to work other shifts as production demands
Preferred Experience:
• Forklift experience and/or certification
• At least 1 year in a manufacturing environment
• Batch processing experience
• Plastics manufacturing experience
• Solid work history
