Are you looking for a change to drive an organisation forward with your expertise? We are currently looking for a Process Development Engineer for our Borstar Pilot Plant in Porvoo, Finland. We offer you an exciting and challenging role with a great portfolio of responsibilities in an ambitious and supporting team. 

 

The Borstar Pilot Plant consists of two complete, parallel lines for Borstar PE and Borstar PP development purposes, including both reactors and compounding units. The pilot plant is supporting the development of catalysts, and further contributes to process and product development. We are responsible for product scaling up to commercial units.

Our Process Development Engineer builds up and provides technological competence in securing continuous improvement of the pilot plant process including focus on HSE&Q issues. 

In this role you…

  • Initiate improvement projects and establish action plans to achieve targeted plant performance
  • Act as a plant representative in investment projects. You will participate in and lead project teams and manage smaller invest project/studies. You work closely together with process development group 
  • You are responsible for the Management of Change in Pilot Plant process
  • Continuously improve the plant performance: e.g. projects, root cause studies, data analysis
  • You are responsible for safety improvement projects together with the production manager
  • You will be responsible of updating of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), training manuals and operating instructions 
  • You will lead the operators during the pilot plant’s on-call duty
     

About you

 

As a Process development Engineer, you preferably have a Master’s degree in Process/Chemical Engineering or equivalent and around 5 years of experience in Chemical process industry. You are handy with IT tools and preferably already have knowledge of process simulation and process design tools. In this role, you should be fluent in Finnish and English language both written and spoken. 


As a person, you have a strong ability to lead and prioritise your own work successfully and have the strength to handle multiple projects at the same time. We wish you to have a proactive approach on ongoing matters and strong skills to co-operate and network fluently. In Borealis, safety is priority number one, so you have a strong focus on health, safety and environmental issues. To be successful in this position, you will also need curiosity for solving different kinds of process issues and react on needed changes in plant design.
