Would you like to be part of the exciting future of Borealis and harness your expertise to transform ideas into realities? We are looking for a Project Manager for our Technical Development & Engineering team in Porvoo, Finland. 


As Project Manager you manage mid-size investment projects, up to 20 MEUR, in order to deliver the project according to its targets regarding HSE, quality, cost and timing. You work together with our team and engineering contractor in Define study and execution phase to achieve these targets.

As Project Manager these are your main responsibilities: 

  • The overall project management and leadership in investment projects 
  • Ensuring that the project is executed according to Borealis procedures, standards and specifications 
  • Qualitative reporting and communication towards the steering committee 
  • Contractor and procurement management 
  • Performing effective risk management for the projects 
  • Acting as a role model for HSE performance for the project members – internal and contractor employees. 

About you

 

As our ideal candidate you have a MSc or BSc degree and intermediate level Project management training with external certification (PMI or equivalent). We expect you to have at least 5 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably within the chemical industry. Ideally this experience includes working with EPCM partner in multi-disciplinary projects including process, piping, instrumentation and civil etc. engineering. Additionally, familiarity with engineering contractors and construction companies will be highly beneficial in collaborating with external partners.

 

We wish you to be an achievement and result oriented person with a flexible working style. You master prioritizing, leading your own initiatives and taking responsibility of decisions. In this role, we need a person who has excellent analytical and conceptual thinking capacity and strong motivation to develop continuously our processes and solutions. In addition, you already have a good track record in engaging, motivating and involving people within projects. Your excellent communication skills helps you to build a broad contact network inside and outside Borealis.

 

In Borealis safety is priority number one, so you have a strong focus on health, safety and environmental issues. Fluency in both Finnish and English is needed in this role.

The position will be located in Kilpilahti industrial area in Porvoo, around 30 minutes away from Helsinki city by car. Borealis also offers bus transportation for our employees from Helsinki and Porvoo and the surrounding areas.
