We are looking for a self-driven and motivated Advanced Process Control Engineer for our Technical Development team in Aromatics production plant in Porvoo, Finland.



In this fascinating role, you will contribute to the performance and continuous improvement of our Aromatics production plant. You will prepare process and process-control investments, participate in troubleshooting, support in test runs and commissioning of investments.  You will develop and maintain deep knowledge in control and advanced process control systems as well as optimization and overall process calculations. In this role you have a wonderful opportunity to use your expertise in an unique and challenging production environment. As an Advanced Process Control Engineer, these will be your main tasks:



• You will develop and maintain process Automation and Advanced Process Control (APC)-systems for Aromatics production unit and process in Porvoo.
• You support plant operation on daily problem solving related to process automation and APC in co-operation with plant maintenance.
• You lead or participate project teams, studies and investments related APC and automation.
• You will be the contact person to service providers and engineering companies and proactively network with relevant organisations.


About you


You hold a University degree preferably in process automation, automation technologies or chemical engineering and preferably 5 years of experience from automation systems or process optimization. In order to succeed in this position you should have capability to learn production process in petrochemical industry and it is an advantage if you have already experience related to advanced process control (i.e. Napcon) or automation systems (i.e. Valmet DNA). You are also a fluent communicator in Finnish and in English.


We wish you to be an initiative person who have a strong motivation to cooperate successfully with others in a team. You have courage to make decisions by yourself and prioritising and leading your own work is familiar for you. We hope you already have some experience of handling projects sustainably by involving and engaging others to do their best.

The position will be located in Kilpilahti industrial area in Porvoo, around 30 minutes away from Helsinki city by car. Borealis also arranges bus transportation for our employees from Helsinki and Porvoo and the surrounding areas.
