Ensure employee health and well-being for Borealis North America compounding sites (2 locations). This role will require quarterly travel to North Carolina.
In this role you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment through preventive measures, screenings, and interventions.
Is responsible for designing, coordinating and conducting health assessments, including but not limited to physical examinations and fitness to work determination. This includes a supplemental initial employee assessment and periodic assessments. Influences the recommendation for employment based on medical assessments.
Provide first aid and emergency care for work-related illnesses and Injuries. Primary off-hours contact to telehealth triage assessments.
Identifies and evaluate health and safety hazards in the workplace. This includes ergonomic, mental health, working conditions, and general workplace hazard assessments.
Manage workers’ compensation claims.
Collaborate with HSE, HR, and department managers to determine work restrictions, as needed.
Ensuring that company values, ethical principles and compliance rules as set out in the Borealis Ethics Policy are integrated in all employment related activities.
Maintain accurate and up to date records and other relevant documents to ensure compliance with health regulations and OSHA regulations, including but not limited to examinations, OSHA injury tracking, fit test certifications, annual hearing audiometric testing, and spirometry.
Develop and implement health promotion programs.
Develop and implement educational initiatives.
About you
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing or healthcare related field.
Possess and maintain state certification (RN or similar). New Jersey Board of Nursing, preferred.
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S), preferred.
EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLE: Occupational or public health setting – minimum 2 years
Ability to travel domestically (5%-10%).
Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of OSHA, preferred.
