Demand Planner

Role Purpose: The Demand Planner is responsible for providing the required availability of products according market demand, asset requirements, availability prioritization and service levels at optimal cost by fine-tuning the production cycles in cooperation with the plant managers and applying appropriate planning tactics. One DP per location shall lead the OPAs.  
The Demand Planner is responsible for finalizing the short term demand plan & prioritizes extra demand based on the service level guidelines of DBM.

Capacity planning and master scheduling (Imports – resale products, Rockport and Toll Compounders)
•    Optimum cycle: provides input to the production cycle review, is responsible for the documentation of the standard production cycle and for cycle information maintenance in SAP APO Master production schedule: builds & evaluates production plan scenarios, adjusts the production plan within the standard cycle and in deviation from it if required by utilising the availability prioritisation principles; compare planned vs actual volumes.
•    Test runs: provides input for test run approvals
•    Total stock & safety stock management: provides input on stock target calculations, responsible for balancing stock level and availability 
•    Safety stock monitoring: Responsible for safety stock calculation review and update in SAP
•    Inventory quality: responsible for stock control on grade & profit centre level, monitors & acts to provide the right composition of inventory according availability prioritisation; continuous follow-up on quality of  inventory 
•    Create selling awareness: pro-actively pushes sales via Sales Managers to balance the inventory
•    Responsible for material moves and inventory adjustments within SAP
•    Contribute to the monthly short-term (S&OP) demand forecasting process
•    Enters requirements for intercompany/own use volumes for short term in the unrestricted demand plan (in SAAS step)  
•    Finalization of APSA: detailing out the customer sold-to combinations and reducing APSA according to SASU restrictions
•    Ensure that Differentiated Business Model (DBM) rules are enforced in her/his area of responsibility, speciality regarding to product prioritization and service levels.
•    Follows the updated demand situation (grid+pool+internal) daily, and adjusts the production plan to keep the stock in balance
•    Pooling: provides input to pool maintenance and decides whether the production should be run as planned if grid and pool are reduced
•    Back-order process: checks BOP lists daily, updates availability of the products & informs CSR on delivery blocks due to unplanned shut-downs
•    Material master for finished goods: ensures that the content is current and takes corrective actions
•    Create new SAP codes as required by Product Management.
•    Reviews weekly quality checks and annual cycle and filter checks.

About you

University education is preferred (bachelor) in a commercial, business, operations or supply chain environment
•    Mastery of relevant IT tools - familiar with statistical tools and techniques
•    Knowledge of planning processes, tools & tactics, professional know-how in S&OP
•    At least 3 years solid experience in a commercial, business, operations or supply chain environment.
•    Good business acumen
