Process Engineer (R&D Pilot plant area) (m/f/d)

Do you enjoy working hands-on in an industrial environment with a close connection to R&D? With your background in process engineering - are you interested in further developing our pilot plant at our production facility in Austria, Schwechat?


In your future role at Borealis, you will:

  • Be responsible for engineering, technology design and application development in our pilot plant
  • Be monitoring and applying compliance in accordance to working practice and safety regulations including the handling, storage and disposal of chemicals products
  • Actively contribute to the development, implementation and improvement of processes and testing methodologies in the area of polypropylen technology
  • Closely collaborate with our scientists and engineers in our R&D and operational plant community
  • Report and present findings and conclusions and provide decision-making research findings

About you

You hold a degree from a higher technical college or university (Bachelor/Master/PhD) in  chemical process engineering or similar. In addition, you need to have several years of experiences in a similar role in an operational plant environment - either from a previous employment or as a fresh PhD graduate from your scientific work at your university. You need to be fluent (spoken and written) in English and German. Since safety of all employees and a safe operation of our plants is a key priority for Borealis, we want you to be aware of any safety related topics as well.

Following Austrian law regulations, we offer, reflecting your experiences, skills and competencies, competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement chemical industry starting at EUR 52 204,04 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background. In addition, we offer a yearly bonus and a voluntary company pension plan.
