Are you passionate about leading people, driving project excellence, and steering technical development? Borealis is seeking an Asset Development Manager to lead and guide our process and asset development engineers at the Stenungsund cracker. In this critical role, you will secure the long-term technical development of products and processes, always prioritising the highest standards of safety and process safety.

 

As Asset Development Manager, you will:

 

  • Lead, coach, and develop a significant community of process engineers in the assigned production area.
  • Drive the strategic development of the plant, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals, risk reduction, and business objectives.
  • Initiate and steer improvement projects in line with the Operations strategy (including Must Win Battles and energy efficiency improvements).
  • Collaborate closely with engineering partners to support feasibility studies, concept development, and the execution of investment projects.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement technical improvements while ensuring full compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

 

You will be part of the Plant Operations Team (POT) at the cracker, actively contributing to operational excellence initiatives, and also a member of the Asset Development Management team, working to continuously improve project and engineering practices across Borealis.

About you

You hold a Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field—ideally within process engineering—and have accumulated at least 10 years of experience in production, process engineering, or project engineering in the chemical or related industries.

 

You bring proven experience in leading technical experts and managing technical studies, coupled with a strong commitment to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment). You are fluent in both Swedish and English at a business level.

 

As a leader, you excel in coaching and providing constructive feedback, actively engaging and inspiring your teams. You combine a high level of analytical thinking and initiative with the ability to drive results and make a tangible impact through your expertise. Furthermore, you are adept at building networks and collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders across production, maintenance, HSE, group experts, and Borealis networks.
