Are you structured, has integrity and want to support the company with topics related to chemical substances? The chemical control specialist is a local role important for the site. Major tasks are related to the assessment of chemicals and to give advice to operations, procurement and product applications regarding the legal compliance on chemical substances and mixtures as well as health effects. As a chemical control specialist, you are responsible for providing evaluations for incoming chemicals and co-operates with the procurement department and raw material owner organisation.


Part time of the work is group related. You will be a member of the product stewardship network. The role is an expertise role but many of the skills/knowledge needed can be developed in the position and with support from local colleagues as well as your colleagues in the product stewardship network.


Are you interested in the following tasks?


  • Ensures fluent workflows and processes, especially in the area of incoming chemicals and for REACH and CLP implementation.
  • Gather relevant information for assessment and risk evaluation of raw material before approval and use.
  • Document information for the use of chemicals and raw material in Safety Data sheets.
  • Training of the organisation in chemical and exposure risks, legal requirement, and the use of personal protection equipment to reduce exposure etc.
  • Supports the transformation of Group procedures, targets and implementation plans to local level.
  • Builds relations with the authorities and represents the company in industry organizational networks.
  • Ensures follow up of all development in the respective area from EU and also local national legislation.
  • Prepares and issues questionnaires to suppliers on own initiative and evaluates the answers.
  • Ensure work according to the Responsible Care Policy.


About you

This job might be for you who has relevant academic degree (e.g. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Ecotoxicology) from university or equivalent, knowledge of relevant legislation (Global, EU, national) and practical implementation of authority guidelines and directives and experience on chemicals' risk assessment. IT systems and English at business level is no challenge for you!
