Our R&D is organized into different competence centers spread across three European Innovation Centers. Several hundred scientists, experts, technicians and engineers are working together on innovation projects to shape our future products. This role belongs to the competence center “Compounds & Recyclates” and is located in Sweden.
In Sweden, our R&D focuses on Wire & Cable Polyolefin solutions. We know that electrification is the future and of course give this area high strategic importance. Numerous Wire & Cable Scientists and Experts are constantly collaborating and sharing their expertise with each other when it comes to pushing boundaries to make our material even more fit for those future applications. Lower energy losses, transmitting power over longer distances, higher operating temperatures - so much to discover and accomplish and we are up for the challenge.
Due to an internal career advancement, the Compounds & Recyclates team is currently looking for a new colleague to become their Carbon Black / Semicon expert. While located in Sweden and having close bonds with the local experts, you will also be closely connected to the research community in our Innovation HQ in Linz, Austria.
In more detail, you will:
- Collaborate with different scientific experts across several countries in Innovation Projects
- Focus on compound design of PE and PP material with mainly semicon and carbon black fillers
- Keep close contact with the technology and testing team in our inhouse testing facilities
- Collaborate with external networks and partners (e.g. academia, conferences, forums)
- Act as technical consultant to our IPR department / patent attorneys to support Borealis intellectual property rights
- Follow high scientific and safety standards in your daily work
About you
- PhD or Master's degree in Polymer Science/Engineering, Polymer Physics, Polymer Chemistry or Chemistry
- Several years of experience as a scientist or researcher in polymer / polyolefins compounding and exposure to carbon black as a filler
- Written and spoken communication skills in English
- Interest in working in multi-cultural and cross-functional teams
- Collaborative and innovative mindset, structured and analytical thinker
