Project & Development Engineer within Logistics

Are you up for a challenge? Do you like to search and carry out improvement proposals, identify, define and lead studies, and manage investment projects in execution phase, in order to develop the Material Handling and Supply Chain operations in the long term?


We are now looking for a Project & Development Engineer within Logistics, who will be responsible for identifying local and groupwide Material Handling unmet needs, and for developing and implementing technical solutions. You will enjoy an international work environment, with stakeholders mainly in Europe and growth ambitions in Asia and USA.


In this role, you will work as a Project Manager and Development Engineer (Logistics Engineer), mainly for the location Stenungsund, but also other Borealis locations within Europe, to identify opportunities and possible improvements. 


Your tasks will be:


  • to ensure, in the most effective way, the use and development of Material Handling technical processes and equipment on a group wide level by continuously evaluating and benchmarking for opportunities and possible improvements.
  • to take initiatives to identify, propose and implement improvements and investment projects for Material Handling processes and systems in order to optimize resources and efficiency.
  • to maintain worldwide market screens for material flow processes and equipment and to create innovative improvement studies and projects, which can develop the Material Handling function in the long term.
  • to follow up new projects and acts as the interface for engineering service providers and to lead investment projects in execution phase and maintain interfaces to relevant stakeholders.
  • to keep the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) guidelines, rules and procedures in mind and react on problems that are not conforming the HSE policy.


About you


You are the right candidate for this position, if you have a technical or bachelor degree for example in Mechatronics, Mechanics or Engineering and already gained relevant work experience in project management. Ideally, you have 3-5 years of experience in polyolefins or in a logistics environment. Moreover, you speak and write Swedish and English on business level.


As a person you have a creative mind and you love to take initiative to explore new business opportunities. You are self-motivated, result-oriented, pro-active, and assertive in your approach. You like to convince people of your ideas and proposals, in order to make things happen and are very result driven and focused on achieving business success.

An advantage would be, if you have worked with SAP and if you have experience in the concept of "Six Sigma".
