Controller (m/f/d) Reporting & Process Optimisation in Business Finance Operations

As Controller Reporting & Process Optimisation, you will be a financial business partner to our Business Group (BG) Operations and Business Finance. The job responsibility includes steering and driving continuous improvement of reporting and finance processes across multidisciplinary teams and supporting the HSEQ and ME teams in finance and reporting. The role-holder is also expected to support Operations initiatives as part of the BG strategy implementation as needed, to participate, lead projects and support specific processes in Business Finance.

 

We need your expertise for...

  • Providing support to the different processes in the Borealis Business Finance/Finance teams
  • Responsible to maintain the overview on reporting, analytics, data exploration and data preparation that may lead to insightful automated reporting/analytics visualisation for the Operations, HSEQ and Business Finance teams
  • Act as business partner and guide the different teams towards LEAN reporting and processes.
  • Develop the frame for reporting simplification and automation across the different Operations locations
  • Design standardisation and drive automation of reports and processes in close cooperation with the Operations, HSEQ and Business Finance teams
  • Define what good looks like, based on the identification of best practices. 
  • Coordinate cross-functional reporting in close cooperation with local teams (Plant teams and Local Leadership Teams members)
  • Design reporting governance, draft and maintain end-user documentation
  • Ensure existing finance and reporting processes are consistent and efficient with the needs of the Operations, HSEQ and Business Finance
  • Project leadership and participation in improvement projects and/or stream lead of more complex cross-functional projects
  • Responsible for analysing and processing data, tracking performance, and deriving optimization measures. This includes fixed/variable costs and operations metrics analysis and providing support to finance processes (i.e. forecasting and planning)

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have an educational background or relevant experience in Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics and/or Data analytics. A general engineering background would be a strong asset. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of core financial processes and a strong interest for continuous improvement. 


In addition, you have...

  • Strong analytical skills and highly interested in analytical issues (in generating reports, statistics, and performance indicators).
  • Affinity and a strong interest in technology/IT tools. 
  • Strong knowledge in the Microsoft Office package (proficiency in Excel is required). Very good knowledge of Business Warehouse / Analysis for Office and SAP and Power BI. Knowledge of VBA and Microstrategy are an asset.
  • Project management skills in your previous career and you consider teamwork as essential to your activities
  • Accuracy and concern for quality are essential
  • Ideally, you have already gained experience in automation of reports and relevant processes
  • You are very structured and you focus on understanding internal customer needs, while providing simple, efficient and effective solutions to their reporting needs in order to better support decision making
  • You have strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of data and translate them into simple visualisation with insightful messages
  • Good knowledge of performance analysis & controlling, forecasting & planning and business modelling

Following Austrian law regulations, we offer, reflecting your experiences, skills and competencies, competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement starting at EUR 80.000 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
