Are you capable of managing compliance with Customs, Excise and Trade Rules & Regulations throughout the value chain? We are looking for a passionate Customs Specialist (m/f/d) to join an international and best-in-class team in our Head Office in Vienna. Take your career to the next level and help our production plants in Austria and Germany navigate the complexities of global commerce efficiently, compliantly and intelligently.

Here’s a grasp of your main contributions in our Austrian and German locations:

• Central point of contact in Customs, Excise and Trade Compliance matters for internal stakeholders (e.g. Dispatch & Logistics, Sales & Procurement, Legal, Product Management, etc.) as well as for Customs and Foreign Trade Authorities
• Manage the Preferential Origin Process (calculation, legal support, monitoring)
• Follow-up of the administration of licenses of Borealis GmbH and local Borealis entities and renewal if necessary
• Handle Customs and Foreign Trade audits in both jurisdictions
• Monitor the Authorized Economic Operator-status: prepare AEO-documentation and provide updated information towards the local Customs Authorities in the yearly review
• Actively monitor legal developments, inform the organization and implement changes if applicable

About you

You are a Customs Specialist (m/f/d) with a degree in Business Administration (or equivalent) and 6 years of experience in Customs & Excise (must-have) in a production, logistics or consulting company. You hold a relevant certification and thrive in a matrix organization, working independently while building strong relationships and collaborating across teams. On top of that you bring:

• Preferably Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) experience
• Full command of German language and written and spoken English at business level are a “must-haves”, other languages are an advantage
• Experience in Export Control matters from either a large corporation or consultancy (or combined)
• Solid relevant SAP know-how, SAP GT and Basic VAT Know-How
• Open for business travel

We offer competitive compensation based on the collective labor agreement, starting at EUR 72.000 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and a yearly bonus. Your salary package will reflect your profile, experience and the specifics of the location you apply for.
