We are looking for a global Process Automation Expert (m/f/d) who can help us continue this journey and join our Process Automation team. This team works in close collaboration with Advanced Process Control, Applied Digitalization teams and Operations (site/factory organizations) and this results in Borealis being an organisation that is in front of Process Automation development.

You will support and execute on functional safety and new digital technology in the process automation field.
Your key responsibilities will be:
• Process Automation lead for proprietary licenses and new technologies.
• Promoting digitalization and innovative thinking to deliver "fit for purpose" solutions that add tangible business value.
• Leading initiatives to enhance Borealis' engineering specifications, ensuring safe and cost-effective implementation.
• Taking the lead on projects and troubleshooting/incident investigations within Borealis and for our esteemed licensees.
• Providing vital support to key investment projects with your expertise in process automation.
About you
You're the perfect fit if you bring 10 years of hands-on experience in automation and continuous control, with at least 4 years dedicated to the petrochemical/polymer/process industry and investment projects. Armed with a Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent qualification, you possess comprehensive technical expertise across various domains, including process automation systems (ESD/DCS/PLC), industrial IT, functional safety engineering/management, process control & tuning, and project management.
As an individual, you excel in driving initiatives and achieving objectives. Your track record demonstrates your ability to thrive in virtual teams spanning different nationalities and cultures. Building strong work relationships comes naturally to you, and you possess the unique ability to generate enthusiasm and secure buy-in for your field of expertise. You relish the opportunity for regular business travel and eagerly embrace international assignments on a global scale. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, completes your profile.

Your salary package will reflect your profile, experience and the specifics of the country/location you apply for.
Should you join us in one of our Austrian locations and according to Austrian law, we offer compensation based on the collective labor agreement starting at EUR 82.400,- annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) plus a yearly bonus, and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
