Head of Quality Management

In this role, you will support the Group HSEQ Team across Borealis in developing the Quality strategy, based on the Quality policy, in line with the company strategy, targets, operating principles and customer demands.
Monitor, report and advice on the performance of the Integrated Management System and ensure that relevant standards within Borealis are implemented and harmonized as well as follow best practice 
Support the Borealis organisation (Business Groups, Functions and Locations) in process management and quality improvement in order to fulfil customer needs and coordinate the activities required to meet quality standards.
Manage the core processes related to quality assurance to maintain and improve a best practice  Integrated Management System incl. matrix certification, audit planning and execution, customer complaint handling process, Management System Review and incident management.


Area of responsibilities:


Setting up, implementing and maintaining…

  • the quality plan to drive overall improvement in terms of quality assurance and the Management System including clear responsibilities, deliverables and timelines.
  • the internal (system) audit plan and their execution on Group level. Ensuring that local internal (system) audits are planned and executed by Location QM’s and cross learning are released and followed up.
  • the certification strategy for and compliance to ISO and relevant industry standards, including a coordinated external certification process with certification bodies as well as follow up of findings.
  • the input to the Group Management System Review, including coordination of local reviews, collecting escalated items and providing input and recommendations for improvement to the Director HSE&Q
  • the training for the team of Quality Managers and Engineers in ISO and relevant industry standards, quality policy, procedures and processes as well as tools and methods in their responsible area.
  • the definition and tracking of Quality performance indicators by gathering relevant data and publishing internal statistical reports.
  • the established QM network with other industrial partners and JV, especially Borouge including knowledge sharing regarding certifications and aligned relevant processes with focus on the complaint handling process

About you


You are able to exceed in this exciting role if you have solid understanding of the petrochemical industry, suppliers, and in particular customers; demonstrated ability to manage change processes successfully, monitoring complexity, diversity and risks;  have strong knowledge of external industry standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, IATF 16949 and ISCC and excellent knowledge of quality and six sigma tools. 

On top of your excellent problem solving, communication and project management skills, you are able to work on own initiative in a fast paced, international and challenging environment. 
As our desired candidate, you combine a University Master’s Degree in chemistry or related field, plus possibly an MBA / PhD with about 15 years’ of relevant quality management experience. You are master of facilitation and coaching, with proven education in Quality Management, including being certified auditor for ISO and/or other standards and project management, including change management. 

Fluent English / verbal and written

Willingness to travel on a global basis is a requirement for this position!
