Indirect Tax Manager (m/f/d)

In our Head Office in Vienna, we are currently looking for an Indirect Tax Manager with global responsibilities. The Indirect Tax Manager is responsible to ensure indirect tax optimal structures and processes group-wide. This requires that the role holder instructs and directs the VAT accountants, IT department, sales managers, procurement managers, logistics, and many others in Borealis but also explores and proposes indirect tax optimal structures and that he/she proposes, implements, and monitors indirect tax projects and processes. 


Functions/Key Results Expected:

  • Group-wide tax guidance and support in indirect tax matters to a multitude of different parties in Borealis (e.g. Sales, Procurement, Logistics, IT, A/P, A/R,…)
  • Managing small and medium-sized projects with heavy indirect tax dimension (e.g. the establishment of setting up new warehouses, entering new markets, supply chain changes, etc.)
  • Monitor and steer indirect tax audits group-wide
  • Define processes, draft procedures and explore and implement tools to monitor indirect taxes and ensure compliance with indirect tax legislation
  • Identification and management of indirect tax risks
  • Monitoring relevant tax law developments in major jurisdictions
About you

In addition to being educated to degree level, you will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 6 years of experience in tax management from either a large corporation or consultancy. You are intrigued by the idea of assuming the global responsibility for indirect tax and building robust processes and monitoring systems in Borealis. You shall have a strong knowledge of EU VAT and indirect tax matters in an international context. A tax advisor's certification or equivalent would be preferred.

Following Austrian law regulations, we offer, reflecting your experiences, skills, and competencies, competitive compensation based on the collective labor agreement starting at EUR 70 000 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background. In addition, we offer a yearly bonus and a voluntary company pension plan.
