In our S&OP team we have an opening for an Operational Demand Planner in Polyolefins who is responsible for managing his/her own portfolio, developing the rolling unconstrained demand plan of the respective business cluster with the objectives of implementing strategic ambitions and improving customer experience, as well as monitoring and steering execution of the demand plan with the objective to maximize margins. In this position you will lead the monthly demand planning dialogue for the products and customers in your portfolio with key counterparts in Sales and Marketing. This is an opportunity to work in a complex, dynamic and global environment.
As an Operational Demand Planner in Borealis you are entrusted to:
- Perform the monthly S&OP demand forecasting and shaping process in line with the business cluster strategy and the objective of margin optimization.
- Utilize a collaborative and consensus forecasting approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate data is used for demand forecasts.
- Analyze and understand data, to quickly recognize changes in sales trends to drive a proactive response in S&OP.
- Analyze current order income of the relevant business cluster, determine expected over-/underselling of the plan, level of cancellations and provides the information to the different stakeholders.
- Manage back orders (BOPs) and enforce follow up.
- Offer excess inventories to sales and collect and prioritize sales opportunities.
- Capture untapped opportunities and profit improvement options and prepare scenarios which you present as basis for decision making during the S&OP meetings.
- Allocate the balanced demand/supply plan within the customer portfolio according to prioritization criteria.
- Participate in S&OP related projects.
About you
You are a perfect candidate for the role, if your knowledge and areas of expertise include:
- Completed University degree in a related field (Business Management, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain);
- Three plus years’ experience in Demand Planning, Demand Execution or related field within the Supply Chain area;
- You possess an agile and flexible mindset along with the high level of responsibility towards the entrusted area of expertise.
- Work experience in a chemical or fast moving consumer goods industry is a plus;
- Fluency in English;
- Advanced skillset in MS Excel. SAP experience is a plus.

Your salary package will reflect your profile, experience and the specifics of the country/location you apply for.
Should you join us in one of our Austrian locations and according to Austrian law , we offer compensation based on the collective labor agreement starting at EUR 70.400 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) plus a yearly bonus, and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
