Borealis is currently looking for two passionate Senior Group HSE Managers to lead our HSE improvement journey!
As Senior Group HSE Manager, you will be the driving force behind our commitment to excellence in Occupational Safety; Security & Resilience; Process Safety; Environment; Energy & Climate, across all Borealis locations. Your mission is to guide us on our journey to Zero Harm and ensure top-tier HSE performance across all functions and you’ll be responsible for:
Strategic, Ethical & People leadership:
- Collaborate with VP HSEQ and leaders to develop and maintain HSE strategies and annual plans. Ensure smooth execution of agreed actions and alignment of HSE strategies within the organization.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 5-15 HSE Subject Matter Experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Uphold company values, ethical principles, and compliance rules as outlined in the Borealis Ethics Policy.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:
- Implement and report on KPIs to track progress and drive improvements.
- Benchmark, share best practices, and learn from industry leaders to strive for excellence. Build and maintain a robust network within the industry, with regulators, and other stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders, identify risk areas, offer solutions, and monitor improvement initiatives. Act as the primary contact for HSE-related matters in due diligence processes to identify potential risks.
Environmental Stewardship: Develop and follow up on environmental, energy, and climate strategies in line with regulations.
About you

We are looking for:
- Master’s degree from a recognized university, or equivalent, with an MBA/PhD preferred.
- 10+ years in HSSE-related disciplines and deep understanding of industry-specific HSSE risks and control strategies.
- International business and cultural experience and a proven track record in managing change, complexity, diversity, and risk.
- Proven people leadership experience, recognized as an enthusiastic, inspiring leader with exceptional people skills, creating a winning team culture and driving change and continuous improvement.
- Strong strategic implementation skills.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.

Your salary package will reflect your profile, experience and the specifics of the country/location you apply for.
Should you join us in one of our Austrian locations and according to Austrian law , we offer compensation based on the collective labor agreement starting at EUR 141.600 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) plus a yearly bonus, and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
