Our Sustainability & Public Affairs Team is currently looking for a Sustainability & Public Affairs Trainee (m/f/d) from February 2022 until February 2024.


Your responsibilities as a Sustainability & Public Affairs Trainee at Borealis:

  • Managing overall process and delivery of external ESG (environment, social, governance) reporting input, working closely with various internal teams to provide best-in-class disclosures across core reporting channels;
  • Providing internal subject matter expertise including review and gap analysis on ESG benchmarking;
  • Policy and press monitoring on issues of interest as well as ESG disclosure trends and best practice;
  • Contributing to research and analysis on various policy issues, reporting of relevant regulatory developments, drafting briefings and reports, position papers and other forms of communication;
  • Supporting the Sustainability & Public Affairs team with organisation of and preparation of materials for meetings, events or other client/stakeholder engagement activities.

About you

You are the right candidate for this role, if you have a University (masters-) degree in political science, international relations, law or other relevant field, preferably with a focus on Sustainability. You are interested in current affairs and policy developments (mainly on EU level) in the industrial sector surrounding topics such as climate change, circular economy and sustainability and how these will shape the future of business and society. Moreover, you have the ability to deliver desktop research across a wide range of topics and provide thoughtful, actionable insights and you have strong communication and interpersonal skills with a self-starting attitude. Excellent English language skills in both spoken and written form is needed, while German is an advantage. Last but not least, you have very good computer skills and use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Sharepoint and you like to work multi-cultural teams in an international environment.

We offer a competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement, reflecting your competencies and experience, from EUR 1.957,64. In addition, we offer a yearly bonus and a voluntary company pension plan.
