As part of the Product Management team within the Low Density Polyethylene and PE compound Business, you are technically responsible for defined portfolios of Borealis commercial PE products and specifically ones used in Energy cable applications. You serve our customers by driving continuous improvement in product quality, performance and cost. Through your networking with amongst others production, customer facing organisation (marketing & sales), procurement, Innotech and quality, you ensure that our commercial products meet customer’s needs and expectations.

 

As a product owner you:

  • Ensure that our products can be produced within established specifications and fulfil customers´ needs and legal requirements. You understand the impact of manufacturing changes on profitability and quality. You are the owner of internal product specifications and support creation of customer related product and technical delivery agreements.
  • Participate and support innovation projects especially regarding test runs and drive product modifications on your own. Contribute to translate customer needs into product requirements whilst balancing value versus cost
  • Perform product quality reviews and drive product related claim investigations in order to define corrective actions and settle claims technically
  • Lead/Support initiatives to improve financial performance of your portfolio e.g. in topics related to complexity reduction, sourcing optimization, new product development, plant capability and cost saving solutions.
  • Lead the respective product portfolio strategy aligned with business strategy ensuring disciplined processes are followed. Lead development of longer term strategic visualisation and translate strategy in actionable plans with focus on delivering results.
  • Execute on strategic plans, ensure project and initiatives are completed on time
  • Contribute to competitor research and benchmarking
  • Interact with our key suppliers, service providers and customers

 

As a member in Application Marketing Teams (AMT) and Customer Support Teams (CST) you give technical support to customers, technical service, marketing or manufacturing organization, as well as other functions. You also support classification and product placement in the market in co-operation with Operations, Supply Chain and Commercial Teams.

About you

As a Product Owner, you bring the following skills and qualities:

 

  • Technical background, preferably a degree in Material Science, Polymer Engineering/Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with several years work experience
  • Knowledge in cable application (including processing) is a clear benefit as well as understanding customers’ needs and their processing to allow translation into technical and product requirements.
  • Understanding of product costing and pricing
  • Good project management and analytical skills.
  • Ability and interest to work in multi-cultural and cross-functional team
  • Good analytical, documentation, presentation and reporting skills
  • Good knowledge of IT tools like excel, powerpoint, SAP/AfO and ability to quickly adopt to and learn new tools
  • Fluency in English. Dutch language or Swedish is of additional benefit (depending on location).
  • You are highly achievement and result orientated balancing benefits and risks, are flexible and comfortable taking decisions. You have a strong ability to identify and manage a variety of stakeholders.
  • You drive own initiatives whilst defining clear and SMART goals/tasks.
  • You are an innovative self-starter, constantly striving to share and expand your knowledge to achieve expertise. You need to have the ability to think in an analytical and conceptual way and have concern for order and quality. You will work in an international team where teamwork, co-operation, networking & interpersonal relationships building is promoted.
