Process engineer GE/BE
About the role
Location: Netherlands - Geleen
Hours: Full-Time
Type of Contract: Permanent
Application Deadline: May 30th 2025
Make Your first career Real!
Are you graduating soon and ready to take the lead in driving innovation and performance in a dynamic production environment? As Process Engineer for our plants in Beringen and Geleen, you'll play a key role in optimizing and developing our operations. Acting as the technical specialist, you'll work to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality, while ensuring technical and economic excellence. Supported by experienced colleagues, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on plant performance and continuous improvement.
These will be your primary challenges, you will:
-
Improve and optimize plant performance by challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities for improvement in daily operations and long-term projects within the polyolefin plant.
-
Take part in technical projects—you’ll lead smaller initiatives or support larger ones by conducting studies, building business cases, working with external contractors, and participating in project start-ups and plant trials.
-
Be a problem-solver on site, supporting troubleshooting activities and helping to improve safety, efficiency, and product quality, often in close collaboration with senior engineers.
-
Collaborate and communicate with many departments like Production, Maintenance, Logistics, and Quality Control, building a strong local network and learning how all aspects of the plant are connected.
-
Contribute to a learning culture by sharing your knowledge, joining technical networks, participating in safety reviews, and continuously developing your own skills in a team-oriented environment.
-
You will also contribute to environmental and energy challenges, helping shape a more sustainable production landscape.
About you
What would you bring to the table?
- A master’s degree (or you are about to graduate) in Chemical Engineering, Bio-engineering, Process Technology, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Fluency in English for professional communication, and a really profound working knowledge of Dutch is pre-requisite for effective collaboration on site.
- Ideally, some hands-on experience (up to 1–2 years) in process engineering, polymer manufacturing, or plant operations—but strong potential and eagerness to learn are just as important.
- A collaborative mindset – you're a team player who communicates clearly, enjoys presenting ideas, and is open to connecting with colleagues across different departments.
- A solution-oriented way of thinking – you're analytical, safety-conscious, and driven to turn ideas into real improvements
- You are flexible and willing to work from both of our locations (Geleen/Beringen) depending on where your contribution is most needed for ongoing projects.
