Borealis is expanding its technical authority in the field of Inspection & Integrity, Processes and Management. As Group Expert in this discipline, you ensure that equipment, infrastructure, and processes in our plants and new investment projects meet safety, compliance and quality standards, essential for minimizing risks and maintaining operational efficiency.

 

In your role you will :

 

  • Define, implement, manage & follow-up inspections programs : for equipment, facilities, and systems – identifying any issues, defects, or non-compliance with regulations and standards ;
  • Integrity management : developing and implementing integrity management programs, maintaining the safety and reliability of our assets during their lifecycle ;
  • Follow-up testing and analysis from a group perspective: evaluating the condition and performance of materials, equipment and facilities ; sharing experiences and knowledge between the different local inspection departments and align about solutions and ways forward ;
  • Reporting : group overview of detailed reporting on inspection findings, including recommendations for repairs, maintenance, or replacements ; implementation track recording & reporting processes ;
  • Compliance : ensuring compliance with industry regulations, codes & standards, and working closely with regulatory bodies and auditors ;
  • Risk assessment : identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to prevent accidents, failures, and environmental impact (Fit for Service) ; development of aligned processes to have common understanding in the Company about risk assessment ;
  • Documentation : definitions of processes and creation of the minimum quality requirements for up-to-date records of inspections, maintenance activities, and integrity assessments / audit of documentation files ;
  • Training and guidance : providing training and guidance to local staff on inspection & integrity topics, safety protocols, best practices (experience sharing).  

About you

-  Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Technology) or equivalent ;

-  10+ years’ experience in the field of Inspection & Integrity with proven expert technical knowledge within the (petro-)chemical / oil & gas industry ;

-  Experience in group-level advisory / multi-site stakeholder management is beneficial ;

-  Strong risk assessment and analytical skills, clear reporting skills, and the ability to master regulatory/standards ;

-  Excellent communicator, able to build buy-in and foster strong stakeholder relationships ;

-  Business-level English proficiency (spoken & written) ;

-  Regular business travel to be expected.

We are flexible on the location – what matters is that we find the right person for the job. Your salary package will reflect your profile, experience and the specifics of the country/location you apply for.

 


Should you join us in one of our Austrian locations and according to Austrian law , we offer compensation based on the collective labor agreement starting at EUR 108.000 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) plus a yearly bonus, and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
